Lauren Nobles


Lauren Nobles has hosted “Straight Talk” on WGIG in Brunswick since 1996. He was born in Nichols and attended The Georgia Academy for the Blind. After graduating from the University of Georgia in 1959 with a degree in broadcast journalism, his first fulltime radio job was at WSIZ in Ocilla. He was news director. He then moved to Douglas where he was general manager and news director of WOKA AM/FM. In 1970 he became part owner of the stations. AT WOKA Nobles hosted his first talk show, “Coffee Break”. He also produced and engineered the Coffee High School broadcasts. In 1996 Lauren joined WGIG AM in Brunswick. He has been Lions Club Man of The Year, recognized by the Georgia General Assembly for his broadcast accomplishments, and won awards from the Associated Press.
