2019 Founders and Directors Award Recipient
Dr. Gene Henssler was born in Milwaukee, WI. He studied finance, international business, and economics at Wayne State University and the University of Michigan. After receiving his PhD, he became professor of finance at Kennesaw State. In 1986, Dr. Henssler began his radio career when WGST program director and 2018 Career Achievement inductee Eric Seidel put him on the air for two hours every Sunday afternoon as host of a financial planning radio program, "Money Talks". The show quickly developed a cult following and would springboard to a much larger and thriving investment, financial planning, and tax advice and preparation business. Dr. Henssler is an iconic example of the power of radio and has maintained his presence on radio as host of "Money Talks" on WGKA in Atlanta.
