BUENA VISTA

In June of 2003, Alaga Communications received permission to change the city of licenses for WMRZ FM/100.7 from  Cuthbert to Buena Vista. The tower and transmitter for WMRZ were located in Stewart County, northeast of Eufaula, Alabama. A new tower was built and the transmitter building (along with the transmitter building [transmitter still inside] was moved to the the new tower site  west of Buena Vista on the edge of  Fort Benning. The old tower was then taken down and the concrete anchors buried 10 feet down so that the land could again be used for farming. The station is now WEAM FM. These pictures were made by John Long, who acted as project supervisor.
